POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION PURPOSE - The purpose of this position is to assist in the effective management of midsized ($500 to $2M) IT Compliance projects, and provide support for work stream teams. The business analyst is responsible for gathering key project aritifacts, and shares responsibility and accountability with the project leadership team for successful delivery of the entire project. Business Analyst IT is responsible is responsible for the research and resolution of operational and/or production support issues. The position requires the individual to keep abreast of innovations and changes to The Home Depot systems to ensure having the appropriate tools and training to provide quality support for end users to maximize efficiency. Business Analyst IT will coordinate and meet with IT and business owners to ensure that business requirements are translated into succinct clear requirements with defined ranges . This individual may document current business processes if they are not already in place. The analyst should desire to understand the functional areas related to the system and the business. Will be responsible for working with leadership to identify and quantify business process improvements along with system improvements through the use of technology is critical. This position requires a technical aptitude. Business Analyst IT provides updates on day to day activities and project status.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Delivery. Follows the plan for controlling the project scope, schedule and cost baseline. Must be able to work with matrixed resources and complete deliverables on a timely basis. Communication. Capable of communicating project information to the project team and to project stakeholders. Develops written status reports, collects and documents project issues, and manages their timely resolution. Project Lessons Learned. At the completion of a project, captures lessons learned, and communicates those to the project managers. Effectively applies lessons learned in subsequent projects. 25% Coordinating research and resolution of operational questions or production support issues. 15% Assisting with writing QA test cases for changes and performing QA testing. 15% Participation in the design processes for changes in other areas of the business and identification of impacts to the system(s) supported. 15% Coordinating the change request process working with both IT partners and the business. 15% Maintaining a working knowledge of business unit processes, procedures and current applications. 15% Assisting with training and rollout plans for new systems or enhancements to existing systems.
NATURE AND SCOPE - Typically reports to Manager Information Services, Sr Project Manager or Director Information Services. No associates report to this role on a permanent basis. No direct responsibility for supervising others.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - ESSENTIAL SKILLS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
EDUCATION REQUIRED - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES -
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS - 1 year Past IT Business Systems Analyst Experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Project Communication: Develops an effective plan for communicating project information to the project team and stakeholders. Develops written status reports, and collects and documents project issues and manages their timely resolution. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. 2 - 3 years of related experience. Past Production Support Experience Order Management or Product Registry System Experience Fluency in Microsoft Suite of Applications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES - Project Focus: Understands IT Compliance related activities (SOX, PCI, Mass. Privacy). Able to anticipate and meet business needs. Results Orientation: consistently delivers on commitments, takes intiative, has a bias toward action, takes responsibility, show individual accountability, has sense of urgency, makes timely decisions. Ability to effectively communicate to a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical. Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project. Abilitiy to work independently with minimal supervision. Organizational Skills Ability to effectively interact with both Business and Technical audiences Ability and motivation to investigate and solve issues that span multiple systems and business teams
