POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION PURPOSE - The candidate will be involved in development and support of Supply Chain Inventory Management projects. They will participate in the requirements gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs. They will be able to present ideas and solutions at peer reviews and development sessions. They will demonstrate that they are capable of ensuring the highest quality deployments from design through QA to production. They will be expected to assist team members in the day-to-day activities related to team project work.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Take business requirements and develop the total technical design for assigned mid-sized projects and ensure proper usage as part of the design efforts in building a system to be put into production. Follow the established processes, policies, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and standards. Conduct appropriate test reviews on assigned projects as necessary. Present findings and offer solutions to management.

NATURE AND SCOPE - Typically reports to Manager, Information Technology No direct responsibility for supervising others.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time ESSENTIAL SKILLS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - The preferred candidate will work independently with minimal direction. They should able to communicate to both business and technical audiences. They will have the ability to participate in multiple work streams simultaneously. This candidate should posess technical proficiency in at least three of the six areas below: + Java development with focus on web development (JSP, Servlet, JMS, JDBC, J2EE Security, Struts) + Understanding of standard web frameworks and languages (HTML, CSS, Javacript, AJAX) + Knowledge of standard web service development frameworks and methodologies (SOAP and RESTful) + Experience with standard SQL against DB2/UDB, Informix, mySQL or SQLServer + Familiarity with Rich Internet Application Development (FLEX, Silverlight) + General proficiency in XML

EDUCATION REQUIRED - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES -

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS -

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - 3-5 years related experience. Experience developing programs for production. Demonstrated ability to take business requirements and use to formulate technical design. BS Computer Science or related field.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES - Ability to communicate issues and recommended solutions in a timely manner. Solid experience in documenting requirements.
