POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION PURPOSE Maximize The Home Depot' s competitive business advantage by providing expertise and leadership to ensure a fully integrated health management solution that sets the standard for excellence, enhances the quality of life, entirely, for The Home Depot community, and enables our associates to optimize performance and productivity. Primary contact for field HR organization for all occupational health issues, disability and return to work programs, and wellness programs.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES * Develops and implements processes and procedures for working with Divisional HR partners on all issues related to Occupational Health and Wellness concerns. * Develop Disability Management implementation process. This includes the development of Change Management process/Case Management for assigned Home Depot business units * Provide case management services and facilitate the return to work for associates out on disability leave. This will include coordination with Disability vendor and Workers'Compensation. Responsible for establishing and implementing metrics associated with lost time and return to duty. * Manage and coordinate return to work assessments, fitness for duty assessments and confidential medical record maintenance. This includes HIPAA and confidentiality compliance. * Works with VP of Medical and Health Management, Director Health and Productivity and Director of Risk Management to coordinate and maintain a health surveillance program. Evaluates program effectiveness and makes recommendations to Environmental Health & Safety for changes in procedures, policies, structure or work practices to improve health and safety measures. * Develops and participates in the implementation of wellness and health promotion programs.
NATURE AND SCOPE * Reports to Director, Health and Productivity Management * Responsible for helping others and providing on-the-job training or guidance
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS * Located in a comfortable indoor area. * Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. * Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time. ESSENTIAL SKILLS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Must be eighteen years of age or older * Must pass the Drug Test * Must pass the Background Check * Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable
EDUCATION REQUIRED- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE- 5
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS * 5 plus years in Occupational Health Nurse role, Case management experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Excellent communications and interpersonal skills (form internal and external partnerships) * Highly motivated * Ability to handle confidential information * Ability to translate medical outcomes to business benefits
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES * Must be able to handle mulitple tasks and ability to prioritize according to importance, as well as maintain good judgement in high pressure situations. * Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Must have training experience * Must be willing to travel * Must have excellent customer service skills
