POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION PURPOSE - Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), the Senior Manager of IT Security Services has the primary responsibility for implementing the overall direction, policies, standards, and guidelines for the IT organization-s technology environment including lifecycle and technology governance. This includes the management of the Company?s day-to-day information security operations team. This position is directly responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of all electronic assets. Working closely with the CISO, this high energy Senior Manager is responsible for driving the implementation of processes and methods to measure and monitor compliance, and serves as the liaison to senior leadership on security risks and mitigation alternatives. Functions of the team include anti-virus deployment and operations, Host and Network-based intrusion detection systems, email filtering systems, Internet content monitoring and filtering, telephony firewall operations, network traffic monitoring, and other similar operations functions. This manager must also function and the Incident Response Team liaison charged with responding on the front line to security events and incidents involving the Company's information or computing resources. Roles and responsibilities include some or all of the following: * Develop a holistic security architecture which identifies potential threats and provides a framework for building resilience to effectively safeguard electronic assets. * Management of the Company?s day-to-day information security operations team. * Proactively protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information technology resources. * Ensure systems and procedures comply with federal, state, local, and Payment Card Industry (PCI) regulations, etc. * Perform security risk assessments by analyzing computing environments to determine vulnerabilities and recommending safeguards to mitigate risk. * Perform compliance reviews to ensure applications and servers are operating in accordance with established policies and procedures. * Respond in a timely manner to a loss / breach or misuse on information technology assets. * Work with infrastructure operations and other groups to manage connection security for LAN, WAN, web sites, and email communications. * Plan, design, and implement security systems and software, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection / prevention systems, cryptographic systems, biometrics, anti-malware and vulnerability management software. * Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards. This position oversees and directs several management teams of associates in the development, implementation and ongoing support of Home Depot' s existing and new software applications and hardware platforms. Works closely with end-user groups to ensure operational stability and that new applications meet the practical needs of the company. This position is typically more strategic in nature, looking out at the medium range (1-2 year view) business goals.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Builds relationship with key user and store operation groups to identify and resolve business issues. Manages and provides technical and business direction that affects capacity planning, new applications, data security, and LAN systems, among others. Manages and tracks the progress of multiple projects. Project management and administration that include work plans, projtrac, resource planning and control, writing status reports, and preparing annual budgets. Conduct regular project reviews. Resolves information services problems by analyzing issues, discerning the most appropriate courses of action, providing tactical direction and, when necessary, reallocating resources. Provides operations analysis and consults to internal clients on business process improvement. Conducts financial analyses to support strategic planning on system purchases, upgrades and reclamation. Negotiates favorable prices with vendors on hardware and software. Communicates status of activities with the team, peers, management, and end-users. Selects, develops and motivates assigned staff.
NATURE AND SCOPE - Typically reports to a Director of Information Services or Senior Vice President Direct reports may include Managers of IS and various IS department Associates. Typically requires frequent persuasion or influencing of others Typically faces situations that have a variety of interpretations and require careful evaluation. Typically considers among many different options or procedures when solving problems. Typically expected to provide infrequent status reports to management only as appropriate.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Under constant pressure to continuously meet tight deadlines, demanding quotas and/or must regularly deal with difficult situations ESSENTIAL SKILLS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
EDUCATION REQUIRED - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS - Over one year of experience in a manager capacity
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - * 8-10 years of IT Security Management experience. * CISM and/or CISSP certification(s). * Extensive IT security industry experience, including design and implementation experience related to privacy, data classification, records management, data flow analysis, electronic discovery, and information lifecycle management is preferred. * Demonstrated knowledge in security management and strategies; capable of assessing the current security environment and able to bridge any obvious gaps that exist. * Knowledge of TCP / IP and other network protocols, including their vulnerabilities and solutions. Knowledge of current transport technologies (routers, switches, protocols and other technologies) for a large WAN / LAN environment. * Advanced knowledge of current project management principles, processes, methodologies and tools for information technology projects. * Working technical knowledge of current systems software, operating systems, and PC protocols and standards. * Excellent written and verbal communications skills. The ability to express complex technical concepts effectively in a business-oriented fashion to non-technical audiences, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with technical audiences, is critical. * Demonstrated ability to apply analytical and problem solving skills to information security and privacy issues. * Must have the ability to build high performing teams and leverage relationships across the organization. * Must be comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. * Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential with extremely sensitive situations and information. A Bachelor' s degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES - Knowledge of MS Office and Lotus Notes Proficiency with the Home Depot software architecture, methodology and governance. Business and financial analysis skills. People leadership/supervisory skills. Technical skills may include experience with one or more of: UNIX, Informix, COBOL, JAVA, Catalyst WMS and YMS, Korn Shell Scripting, Novell, Netware, Onnet, Sequelink, TSO/ISPF/MVS, DB2/SQL, JCL, CSP, CICS TCP/IP, Visual Basic, Networking, and LAN administration.
