POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION PURPOSE -We are seeking world-class talent looking to build a career with the world-s largest home improvement retailer, operating more than 2,200 store locations in the U.S, Canada and Mexico. Specifically, your role in homedepot.com will place you at the center of one of the top 40 retail websites that is experiencing an exciting growth trajectory. You will be exposed to the latest Web technologies including J2EE, Websphere, and numerous industry-leading Web technologies running at large, enterprise scale. You will work with IT teams and business partners to understand strategic initiatives as well as deliver leading-edge online capabilities that also support Home Depot?s retail business. You will apply advanced problem-solving techniques and coordinate with other core team members to resolve system issues, maintain complex business logic and identify and implement innovative solutions.- Responsible for code migration through lifecycles, change management, build notes, etc. for various web technologies.- Manage dynamic change management process to insure high quality of project and IT operations
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -Perform installation, maintenance and support of system software, hardware and infrastructure and user support for moderately complex projects. May oversee this effort if acting in team lead capacity.Perform store & SSC engineering and roll-out implementation.Perform configuration, debugging and support for infrastructure platform for moderately complex projects.Perform root cause analysis for service interruption recovery; create preventative measures.Provide technical direction to System and Associate Engineers, Operations Specialists, and contractors.Interface with Business Stakeholders on all applicable projects. Update manager on all escalated issues.
NATURE AND SCOPE -Typically reports to Manager, Information TechnologyResponsible for helping others and providing on-the-job training or guidance
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -ESSENTIAL SKILLSMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
EDUCATION REQUIRED -The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 5
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES -
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS -Knowledge and experience with computer hardware, operating systems and system software.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -Code and configuration management, build management for various projects and development lifecycles.- Experience with Clear Quest, Ant and software development methodologies to support multiple development code streams in non-production and production environments.-Strong scripting and automation background. Must be comfortable with a variety of scripting languages such as Perl, Korn shell, ANT, and JACL-Deep understanding of revision control concepts such as locking, merging, baselines, tags, and braching. Specific experience with Clearcase is a plus-Experience automating the build for complex java/websphere applications using tools such as Ant, Maven, and CruiseControl-Experience automating the deployment and configuration of Websphere based applications to AIX/linux servers using tools such as Opsware SAS, RHEL RPM, or other custom tools.-Experience automating the building and refreshing of test environments to include data and content updates, code deployment, server configuration, and automated testing-Strong Configuration Management and SDLC process knowledge to support parallel development code streams-Sufficient understanding of Websphere 5.1/6.0 architecture to be able to build and deploy new code and automatically control and troubleshoot the operating environment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES -Solid knowledge of the PC (hardware and software) is essential.Ability to listen to what the user is saying and then interrpret what he/ she is trying to get across.Ability to work autonomously and with a diverse team.Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.Ability to present ideas and manage projects.
