POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION PURPOSE - The Web Merchandising Manager is responsible for developing the online positioning for their respective Home Depot merchandising departments. The person in this position acts as a liaison between the merchants and the online marketing and creative teams, communicating and prioritizing business needs for the categories they support. They are to be focused on driving sales and profitability, while ensuring that the experience of the external customer is enhanced and consistent with the THD brand and its overall online environment. The Web Merchandising Manager will be charged with collection, socialization and implementation of the established merchandising strategies for their departments. This includes annual, quarterly and monthly events and marketing plans to support the merchandise business objectives. This person will be charged with leveraging homedepot.com and the online marketing channels to increase key category and website metrics including store and online sales, store and online traffic, engagement, etc.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - * 20% Act as the online subject matter expert for their departments and as the lead point of contact for Direct Fulfillment Merchants, communicating with merchandise departments on consistent basis * 10% Set, manage and communicate the departmental objectives for homedepot.com, promotions and product launch plans to a cross-functional team - including internal partners in Print, Signage, Merchandise Marketing, IT, Creative, Merchandising, Operations, Analytics, etc. * 10% Maintain an online merchandising and marketing calendar with key launches and programs * 10% Work with Internet Marketing Program Managers (search, affiliate, email etc) to develop appropriate landing pages to increase online sales * 10% Work with the Content team to develop specialty interest areas developed to enhance the shopper experience and create return traffic, and increase sales driven online and in store * 10% Analyze effectiveness of marketing programs against target metrics. Report results to senior leadership and make recommendations to optimize campaign effectiveness. * 10% Conduct competitive benchmarking for merchandise categories * 20% Act as the resident subject matter expert with regard to specific interactive marketing best practices, industry standards, department analytics and legal requirements
NATURE AND SCOPE - * Reports to Director - Interactive Merchandising * Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. Planning, monitoring and reviewing work of subordinates is required. This may include direct supervision of a shift or the coordination of multiple work groups. Makes recommendations concerning selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development. ESSENTIAL SKILLS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Must be eighteen years of age * Must pass the Drug Test * Must pass the Background Check * Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable
EDUCATION REQUIRED - * The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 5
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - * Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - * 7 years of retail marketing experience, communication experience associated with a national-level retailer * Deep knowledge of multi-channel marketing strategies, channels, technologies, principles, and processes * Demonstrated ability in the full-lifecycle of marketing initiative management and integrated marketing campaigns * E-commerce knowledge and experience (principles, best practices, and tools) * Strong analytical skills with demonstrated financial and business planning skills
