<br><br><b>POSITION PURPOSE</b> -
The Home Depot (THD) is seeking entry-level talent interested in building a career with the nation-s top home improvement retailer at our Atlanta Corporate Office.
Candidates will work in a team environment with IT and business counterparts to design, build, test, deploy, and support business systems, applications, and supporting infrastructure. THD employs a wide variety of the latest technologies, platforms, and toolsets, offering candidates experience / exposure to the following: Java, Flex, Mobile Computing, Open Source, Cloud / Grid Computing, Enterprise Services, SAP, Manhattan TMS / WMS, PeopleSoft, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Hyperion, Linux, UNIX, x86, and zOS.
The Developer has demonstrated a good working knowledge in at least one programming language. Has taken business requirements and turned these into detail technical design to be used as part of a system application for production. Has worked in both developing and maintaining applications for production environments. The Developer has a solid understanding and is effective in documenting requirements, in testing systems, and in working with the life cycle process. Has developed code or written programs from scratch to be used in a production environment. Work to become proficient in one or more programming language within assigned technical area by performing assigned tasks.
<br><br><b>MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES</b> -
Take business requirements and develop the total technical design for assigned mid-sized projects and ensure proper usage as part of the design efforts in building a system to be put into production.
Follow the established processes, policies, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and standards.
Conduct appropriate test reviews on assigned projects as necessary. Present findings and offer solutions to management.
<br><br><b>NATURE AND SCOPE</b> -
Typically reports to Manager, Information Technology
No direct responsibility for supervising others.
<br><br><b>ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS</b> -
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

This position will be responsible for ensuring proper design and development of all application and data integration. Accountable for determining the 3-year strategic direction for data integration including middleware product roadmap and selection. This person will help to shape the organization's use of enterprise services, working to establish broader use of standards and adoption of SOA at The Home Depot. Other responsibilities would include: Establishing the foundation for effective use of middleware products; Perform project tollgate reviews for Data Integration and SOA; Pusing forth the strategy for enterprise services; Coordination with associates and product vendors to establish, share and further the framework for reuse; Architecture reviews and project integration consulting.

<br><br><b>MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES</b> -
Lead design, development, and deployment of technical and application solutions to meet business requirements that are cost effective and sustainable. Deliver conceptual, logical, and physical solution specifications.
Translate business requirements using complex methods and models to determine appropriate system solutions.
Provide input into annual budget planning for technology migrations and project cost estimation.
Research, identify, test, certify, and select technology products required for solution delivery.
Establish and implement technology migration strategies for a specific application or architecture within an IT portfolio.
Lead technology review meetings and ensure appropriate governance processes are followed.

Typically reports to Senior Architect, Senior Manager, or Director

Prior experience with standard architectural methodologies a plus. Other non-technical skills include: exceptional communication skills, outstanding abilities for collaboration and consensus building.
